The Zambia Institute of Architects President Ar. Fidelis Kabwiri and some Council members paid a
courtesy call on the Minister of Green Economy and Environment Hon. Collins Nzovu this morning at his
office.

Ar. Katongo Mulenga – Honorary Treasurer ZIA
Ar. Peter Kabwe – Council Member ZIA
Mr. Kalumbu Hamabwe – ZIA Secretariat
Ar. Kabwiri informed the Minister that ZIA is ready and available to collaborate with the Ministry on
matters of common interest especially with the advent of climate change challenges we are facing as a
country and Globe. He furthermore said that ZIA and its members are well trained and qualified to
provide professional advice and must be given the lead especially in coming up with solutions for
challenges affecting the built environment sector. Additionally, the president shared a summary of the
International conference's presentations and resolutions on the climate change mitigation and
innovations.
Hon. Nzovu emphasized that the Ministry is open to receive guidance on policy and legislation relating
to the built environment and green architecture. He urged that we must show our relevance to society
by providing solutions in view of climate change.
The Minister ended the meeting by emphasizing the need for the Institute and the Ministry to partner as
ZIA is one of their key stake holders
