The Zambia Institute of Architects President Ar. Fidelis Kabwiri in the company of some council members
paid a courtesy call on Hon. Rodney Sikumba Minister of Tourism this morning at his office. Hon. Rodney

Ar. Kabwiri informed the Minister that ZIA and it's members are available to partner with the Ministry to
enhance the tourism sector especially with regards to the built environment.
Mr Kabwiri highlighted the important role good Architectural infrastructure can play in boosting tourism
sector revenues and create employment for the country at large. He informed the Honorable Minister
that ZIA and it's members are ready to work with the government in policy formulation and
implementation of infrastructure projects within the tourism sector. ZIA is ready to work with the
Ministry to develop strategies that will help boost tourism in all towns and villages across the country.
Hon. Sikumba said that the Ministry is open to receive guidance on policy relating to the built
environment and that they have created positions for ZIA to be represented on various boards and
committees within the Ministry. He emphasized the need for collaboration between the Ministry and
ZIA in finding solutions to challenges being currently faced in the tourism sector. He finally concluded
that his Ministry is open for further engagement and the office of the P.S. will now be open for ZIA
engagements and collaborations.
